Are you planning a long week end in Rome?

You couldn’t choose a better moment. Rome in spring is simply amazing, but, believe me, don’t miss out what’s new in the art scene.

MAXXI is absolutely a “must see” museum. Just opend on may 30th, 2010 MAXXI is the first italian national museum dedicated to contemporary creativity. Realized by the iranian archistar Zaha Hadid it’s a celebration to the deconstructionism. There are five exibitions inside: from Gino De Dominicis (till november 7th, 2010) to Kutlug Ataman “ Mesopotamian dramaturgies” a video art exibition (till september 12th). A space is dedicated to the permanent collection and another one is for architecture expositions (now Luigi Moretti till november).

The building is simply fab, a landmark in Flaminio neighborhood.

MAXXI – VIA GUIDO RENI 4 – ROME

While we are all waiting for the opening of new MACRO (museum of contemporary art in Rome) expected for the next fall, we have had a preview of the new wing signed by Odile Decq. Breathless!!

If you want to have a look go to MACRO Via Reggio Emilia, 54 – Rome

But if you are in a hurry and don’t want to move away from your shopping addiction in Via Condotti, take a ten minutes break and go to Gagosian Gallery (via Francesco Crispi, 16) just up spanish steps (Scalinata di Piazza di Spagna).

There’s a Christopher Wool exibition for the first time in Rome. The Chicago born artist is the perfect representation of the new abstract art. The gallery deserves a visit even because the entry is free! Till july 30, 2010.

To end let’s go to Scuderie del Quirinale (Via XXIV Maggio, 16) - www.scuderiedelquirinale.it – to admire the mastyerpieces by CARAVAGGIO. The exibition is unique and a celebration for the 400 years of his death. You’ll find into a stunning location, 24 masterpieces of the italian genius coming from the most important museums of the world. If during the visit you feel a little bit bad, don’t worry: it’s the syndrome of Stendhal! (till july 13, 2010)

Are you satisfied of your roman week end? Hope so.
